Linden -- Funeral services and burial will be held Thursday in Cheyenne Wyoming for Mrs. Ethel Snyder Whitters, who died in a nursing home there Monday. Mrs. Whitters was a native of Montgomery County born in the Potato Creek area the daughter of Garrett and Lavina Irons Snyder. The family moved to Linden where she graduated from high school. She married Frank Whitters and the couple spent most of their married life in Cheyenne. He preceded his wife in death. She had lived in Cheyenne about 50 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Louise Stepp of E. Cajon, California and Mrs. Edna Studder of Reno, Nev; a son, Orville Whitters of Cheyenne, a brother, Caryl Snyder of Fullerton, Calif; grandchildren and great grandchildren; a nephew, Earl Snyder of near Waynetown and other nieces and nephews in the local area. -- kbz

Earl Snyder has received word of the death of his aunt, Mrs. Ethel Snyder WHitters at Cheyenne, WHO, Monday Oct 3.  Born in Montgomery County the daughter of Garrett and Lavina Iron Snyder, she later moved to Linden where she graduated from HS. She left there about 50 years ago. She had made her home in Cheyenne for many years. She was the widow of Frank Whitters and was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Louise Stepp, El Cajon, Calif; and Mrs. Edna Studder, Reno, Nev; one son, Orville Whitter’s, Cheyenne, one brother, Caryl Snyder, Fullerton, Calif; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews reside in this vicinity as well as some cousins. Services and burial were held in Cheyenne on Thursday. - kbz
